humidity/heavy air

Skin is peeling off of me in whirls and bumps

And when I pick at it the skin on my fingers

Comes off

On my hands.

I’m walking right side up

But gravity is pulling me to the ceiling.

Crickets, so loud I go blind, screaming;

A cicada breaks through,

  EEEEEEEEEee~~ ……….. EEEEEEEEEee~~

Something is rattling, rattling…

Wasps in the icebox.

I can feel their arms twitching

Like wires

I can feel the clientele infesting the store

Like wasps.

The dirt on the sidewalk

  is peeling, peeling-peeling.
